Brief

The bill would “…extend Federal recognition to the Chickahominy Indian Tribe, the Chickahominy Indian Tribe—Eastern Division, the Upper Mattaponi Tribe, the Rappahannock Tribe, Inc., the Monacan Indian Nation, and the Nansemond Indian Tribe.”

In general, the bill makes the tribes eligible for all Federal services and benefits and allows Interior to take lands into trust for the tribes and to be considered part of the tribe’s reservation but may not be taken by eminent domain.

No gaming is allowed.
